Description

Vasastan is a slim desk for a room where a desk has to look like furniture. The top is 130 by 55 centimetres in solid walnut, 25 millimetres thick, with a pencil drawer hidden behind a flush front that opens with a push. The legs are solid steel bar, tapered from 30 to 15 millimetres on the way down, and welded to a frame set back far enough for a chair to disappear under the top.

A slot along the back edge takes a laptop cable and a lamp cord, and a steel clip under the top holds a small power strip. The height is 74 centimetres. The walnut is oiled and will take a renewed coat whenever it looks tired, which keeps a thin desk looking deliberate for a long time.

Vasastan Desk comes in Walnut and Black.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.

Buy one good thing instead of three cheap ones, and keep it.
