Aino started in Copenhagen with one idea: a piece of furniture should outlast the trend it arrived with. We choose makers who still build to last, and we sell what we would keep ourselves.
We started by asking a simple question: why does so much furniture get thrown away? The answer, usually, is that it was never built to last in the first place — glued instead of joined, foam instead of down, a finish that means well but wears through in a year.
So we went looking for the makers who still do it the hard way: solid joinery, natural materials, workshops where a single chair can take a week to finish. Malmsten in Stockholm. Tacchini and Miniforms in Italy. Stolab in Småland. New Works in Copenhagen. Every one of them has been doing this for longer than we've existed, and it shows.
We don't carry everything they make — only the pieces we'd want in our own homes, and stand behind for as long as you own them. Every piece is inspected before it reaches you, and every purchase comes with a two-year warranty.
