Hornstull Writing Desk

Hornstull is a writing desk for letters, sketching and a laptop at the end of the day. The top is 120 by 60 centimetres in solid oak with a leather panel let into the centre, flush with the timber, and a single wide drawer on wooden runners under the front edge that is divided for pens, paper and a tablet. The legs are turned and splayed a few degrees, which keeps the desk steady on an old floor.

A brass grommet in the back corner takes a lamp cord and a charger, and the back apron is cut lower so a chair arm clears it. The height is 75 centimetres. Designer Ebba Lindqvist drew it to stand away from the wall as easily as against it, so it works in the middle of a bedroom or behind a sofa.
