Description

Fjällnäs has a back that rises to 105 centimetres and turns inward at the ends, so sitting in it feels like sitting in an alcove. The wings cut down on draught and noise, which matters in an open-plan ground floor. The frame is birch throughout, and the legs are square birch posts that continue the line of the wings down to the floor.

Seat depth is 55 centimetres with a firm, upright cushion, meant for sitting with a book or a conversation rather than lying flat. The textile is a dense felted wool that holds the tall shape without sagging. Fjällnäs suits a large room that needs a quiet corner carved out of it. Designed by Olof Vik for Vik & Söner.
