Description

The Falun Chair is a dining chair built from solid oak, with a shaped seat and a back of seven turned spindles that fan out slightly from a steam-bent top rail. The seat is carved to a shallow saddle so it holds you without a cushion, and the legs are tapered and splayed just enough to stand steady on uneven floors.

It was drawn by Elin Söderberg as a chair that disappears into the room. The joinery is wedged through-tenons, visible on the underside of the seat, so the frame tightens rather than loosens as the oak settles. Around a table it reads as a set, and on its own it works as a desk chair or a hall chair that gets used every day.

Falun Chair comes in Oak and Black Ash.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.

Buy one good thing instead of three cheap ones, and keep it.
