Description

Ulvö separates the parts that wear from the parts that do not. The frame is steel, wrapped in saddle leather that is stitched by hand along the arms and the front rail, and it is meant to be touched and marked. The seat and back cushions are textile, loose, and reversible, with covers that come off for washing or replacing after a decade.

Seat depth is 64 centimetres on a sprung base, deep enough to curl up but not so deep that a short person loses the back. Ulvö suits a household with children and animals, where the sofa needs to survive and still look considered. Designed by Pär Brännström for Atelier Brännö.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.
