Description

The Pite Chair is a stacking chair with a seat and back upholstered in a tight flat-woven textile over a thin moulded shell. The base is a sled of bent steel rod, so the chair glides over rugs and floorboards instead of catching on them, and four chairs stack without the fabric touching. The back is cut low and wide, with a slight curve that holds the lower back during a long sitting.

Studio Malm made it for one-room living, where the table is a desk until six and a dinner table after. The textile is tough enough for daily use and the steel sled is welded in one piece. Lined up along a wall when not in use, four of them take up about the width of a bookshelf.

Pite Chair comes in Cream, Sage and Ink.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.

Buy one good thing instead of three cheap ones, and keep it.
