Description

Örby is a sit-stand desk that never needs plugging in. A folding crank under the front edge drives both steel legs through a geared shaft, lifting the 150 by 75 centimetre oak top from 72 to 118 centimetres in about twenty turns. There is no motor to fail and nothing to unplug when the desk moves rooms, and the crank folds flat against the frame when not in use.

The top is 25 millimetre solid oak with a soft front edge, and a steel tray under the back holds a power strip and the cables for a screen and a dock, with a fabric sleeve down one leg. The frame is rated for 80 kilos. It is the sit-stand desk for someone who wants the mechanism to outlast the electronics it carries.
