Description

Mörby is deep. The seat measures 95 centimetres front to back, so two people can sit cross-legged facing each other, or one can lie along it with room to spare. The back is low and the arms are wide enough to hold a cup. There are no visible legs; the whole body sits on a recessed plinth, and the sofa reads as a single soft volume.

Everything is covered in a heavy cotton-linen textile with a dry hand that softens with washing. The cushions are foam with a feather wrap, which gives way slowly and recovers overnight. Mörby is for a television room or a cabin living room where comfort outranks posture. Designed by Ebba Hedlund for Studio Hedlund.

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.
