Lysekil Armchair

The Lysekil Armchair is built from laminated birch bent into a frame where the arms, back posts and rear legs are one continuous curve, with the front legs and seat rails fitted inside it. The seat and back are two panels of a tightly woven wool textile, stretched over slim frames and sprung on hidden elastic webbing, so there is give without any thickness of padding.

Havsbris made it as an everyday armchair, the one that gets carried to the balcony on a warm evening and back inside before the rain. It weighs about six kilos. The birch is oiled and the textile panels can be unclipped and replaced. In a room it reads as a line rather than a mass, and you can see the floor through it.
