Description

Alnö is a dining chair built around one curved piece of oak. The back rail is steam-bent and joined to the rear legs with wedged tenons, so the joint tightens rather than loosens as the wood moves over the years. The legs are square at the top and taper toward the floor, and the seat frame is oak as well, pegged at the corners.

The seat is a thick leather pad over webbing, stitched around a thin foam core and held in place with a drawstring so it can be removed. Seat height is 45 centimetres. Alnö suits a dining table used every day, and it stacks two high when the room is cleared. Designed by Hanna Lindqvist for Lindqvist Verkstad.

Alnö Dining Chair comes in Oak and Smoked Oak.

Made to be kept

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.
