Description

The Dalby Armchair is a frame of solid walnut, four posts and two stretchers, with a seat and back of thick saddle leather slung between them on brass fittings. The arms are flat walnut rails that run straight back and lift slightly at the rear post. There is no upholstery and no foam. The leather hangs taut, gives a little when you sit, and the back tilts to follow you.

Granit & Ek build it from walnut because the timber takes the slim profile without bending and ages toward the same depth as the leather. It is a chair that holds a corner of a living room on its own, with a lamp and nothing else. The leather marks easily at first and then stops looking marked.

Dalby Armchair comes in Walnut.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.

Buy one good thing instead of three cheap ones, and keep it.
