Description

Årsta is a desk for the narrow wall nobody knew what to do with. The top is 90 by 50 centimetres in solid oak at 74 centimetres high, with a drawer that pulls out from the side so the front stays flush and a chair can be pushed all the way in. Under the top, a shelf 12 centimetres down holds a closed laptop and a notebook so the surface is clear for the evening.

The legs are square oak, joined to the aprons with glued mortise and tenon, and a half-round notch at the back edge drops a charger cord behind the shelf. Everything is oiled rather than lacquered, so a worn corner can be sanded and oiled at home. It is built to be the one desk in a small home for a long time.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.
