Description

Sälen is a lounge sofa built like a daybed. The frame is birch, with a slatted seat and back that are visible from behind and from the side, and the cushions sit loose on top so they can be lifted off and shaken out. The seat height is 38 centimetres and the back reclines further than on a standard sofa.

The cushions are covered in long-haired sheepskin on the seating side and a plain textile on the back, so they can be turned over in summer. Sälen is for a cabin, a fireplace room or a window seat in a cold climate. It is heavy and meant to stay where it is placed. Designed by Karin Vik for Vik & Söner.

Sälen Lounge Sofa comes in Natural.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.

Buy one good thing instead of three cheap ones, and keep it.
