Description

The Pigreco armchair is a poetic work by Tobia Scarpa. The dining chair, Scarpa's first, was designed in 1959 and is produced today by Tacchini. Pigreco exudes a harmony between straight and curved lines, and its forms are created through both materiality and voids, giving a sense of space to an otherwise static object. The different shapes contribute dynamism, strength and lightness.

The frame is plywood with walnut or ash, padded in polyurethane foam of several densities, and the seat is upholstered in fabric or leather. The same frame can read as warm or as formal depending on the room it stands in. More than sixty years on, it still looks like a chair designed for now.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.

Buy one good thing instead of three cheap ones, and keep it.
