Description

Grimsö has no seat cushions. The seat and back are a single hide of thick vegetable-tanned leather, stretched over an oak frame and laced to it along the underside, so the leather itself is the seat. It is firm at first and gives over the first year as the hide learns the shape of the people who use it. The frame is left visible on all sides.

Seat depth is 52 centimetres and the back is a straight leather panel at a slight angle. Grimsö is for someone who wants one sofa for life and is willing to wait for it to become comfortable. It suits a workroom, a gallery or a hall. Designed by Pär Brännström for Atelier Brännö.

Grimsö Sofa comes in Natural Tan.

Made to be kept

Solid wood and honest joinery. Aino makes chairs, sofas and tables to be used for decades.

Nothing here is built to be replaced. The frame is made to last, and the parts that wear can be looked after instead of thrown away.
